About Me
I use my training as a Scientist and Engineer in Nanotechnology, Electronics and Material Science, to invent and scale climate change mitigation technologies.
I am driving advanced R&D to produce CO2 offset technologies. Combining 15+ years of work in Carbon, in its different allotropes (Carbon Nanotubes, Graphene, etc), to build green technologies which are practical and efficient.
These programs have developed and delivered commercial output in the U.S and Sri Lankan markets. They include green lubricants, composites, motor technologies, coatings, and Scientific knowledge management systems etc.
I am published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences around the world. And my work on multiple boards has been a demonstration of enabling commercially driven, science and technology enabled, outputs for a prosperous, compassionate, and healthier society.
Key Areas of Expertise:
- Graphene & Carbon Nanomaterials: Led Graphene research for Sri Lankan Ministry of Science and Technology, developed novel Graphene exfoliation technique (U.S. Patent application pending).
- Advanced Material Development & Characterization: Expertise in composites, functional coatings, corrosion management, AFM, SEM, TEM, XRD, EDX, UV-VIS-NIR, FTIR.
- Plasma Technologies: Headed NSF-funded project in Near Atmospheric PECVD for Carbon Nanotube growth and surface functionalization. Published in *Vacuum (Elsevier)*.
- Electronics, IoT & Embedded Systems: Design of scalable IoT/Industry 4.0 plants, RF biosensors (ZnO SAW devices), embedded systems (PIC, AVR, ARM, x86).
- Climate Change Mitigation: Focused on scientific advancements for scalable and efficient green technologies.
