Intern - Chemical Process engineer

We are seeking a chemical process engineer with strong applied chemistry grounding to design, analyze, and improve real industrial processes operating outside ideal assumptions. This role requires active use of chemical principles—not just mechanical or operational optimization.
You will work on chemically active, multi-component systems where composition, intermolecular interactions, phase behavior, and kinetics directly affect process stability and performance. Engineering decisions must account for chemistry–process coupling, not treat chemistry as a black box.
This role is for engineers who can connect molecular-level behavior to plant-scale outcomes.
This position is both creative and rigorous by nature you need to think
outside the box. We expect the candidate to be proactive and have a "get it done"
spirit. To be successful, you will have solid solving problem skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, evaluate and build continuous and semi-continuous chemical processes
- Develop physical equipment according to designed process
- Run experiments on designed equipment and novel materials
- Record data
- Analyse and feedback data in to process
Must Have
- Bachelor Degree or Higher Demonstrated competence in applied chemistry
- Passion for automation and software products usage
- Good written English
- Highly creative and autonomous
- Strong Excel / Python / MATLAB skills for engineering calculations and sensitivity analysis
- Strong analytical skills
Nice to have
- Experience in formulation-driven industries (specialty chemicals, energy materials, coatings, composites, functional fluids)
- Exposure to chemistry-led process development or scale-up
- Familiarity with Pilot-plants
